# Notifications

Archivst writes one JSON file per event to `%APPDATA%\ArchivstDesktop\notifications\`. An agent should poll this directory, parse the file, then delete it after handling (the desktop app follows the same read-then-delete contract).

## Backup error

`error-{timestamp}-{guid}.json`:

## Site notification feed

When signed in, token-expiry and other account events also appear in the per-user site notification feed with:

- `Title`
- `Message`
- `NotificationType`
- `CreatedUtc`
- `IsRead`

These are shown on the site and sent by email.
