Bring archived data back online, confirm the cost, and download confidently with Archivst Desktop.
You're ready to restore
- You already have data stored in Archivst.
- Your account has enough credit to cover restore costs.
- Your device has enough free space for the download.
Know the layout
Archived lists everything kept offline in cold storage. Online shows folders that are staged and ready to download. Folder menus let you refresh listings, start restores, or delete archived items you no longer need.
Restore in five steps

1Select Restore & choose a folder.
Open the Archived tab, pick the folder you want, and untick anything you do not need. By default every file is selected.

2Start the restore.
Click the Play button. Optionally choose a point-in-time (date and time) so newer versions are ignored.

3Confirm by email.
Archivst sends a code and shows the estimated cost. Enter the code in the app to proceed.

4Switch to the Online tab.
Once restored, your folders appear under Online. Tick the files and folders you need and press Play again to download.

5Choose where to download.
Select a destination with enough space. If you used your own encryption password, test a single file first to confirm the password is correct.
Downloaded data stays available online for a week. Re-run a restore if you need the window extended.
Faster decisions
- Use folder ticks to exclude large items before you restore.
- Refresh folder listings if you recently archived or deleted items.
Encryption reminders
If you selected your own encryption password during backup, keep it safe. Archivst cannot recover a lost personal key and downloads will not open without it.
